CATHEDRAL ST. BARTHOLOMÉ
Cathedral with a large panoramic tower housing numerous altars with remarkable sculptures or paintings inside.
Its chiselled red sandstone tower is in the flamboyant Gothic style. Inside, many of the altars feature remarkable sculptures or paintings, such as the 15th-century Maria-Schlaf-Altar. In addition to its architectural importance, the cathedral also plays an important role in German history, as the place where German emperors were elected under the Golden Bull of 1356, and where they were crowned from 1562 to 1792. The exterior panoramic tower offers a superb view of the city.
