ESCHENHEIMER TURM
This square has been completely preserved despite all the wars and bombings of the Second World War.
A symbol of the city, the Eschenheimer Turm is one of the few remaining vestiges of the 15th-century city walls. Despite the centuries it has passed through, it is almost entirely preserved in its original state. It has survived all wars, including the bombings of the Second World War, unlike many other monuments! Standing proudly on the busy Eschenheimer Square, the 47-metre-high tower, topped by four turrets, looks like a fortress guardian of the past, in the heart of the modern world, at a crossroads marked by contemporary architecture.

The café at the bottom of the tower is quite friendly and if you are in legs a visit to the toilets (upstairs) offers a nice view...
