GOETHE MUSEUM - MUSÉE GOETHE

The Goethe Museum in Düsseldorf is located in the former Schloss Jägerhof hunting palace, completed in 1772 and located at the east end of the Hofgarten. Since 1956, Goethe's life and work have been presented through a thousand exhibits, arranged in chronological order. The first editions of the individual works of the poet are kept in windows, surrounded by drafts of manuscripts and letters of the period in which they were written. Images of cities and landscapes show where Goethe wrote his books, and images of the poet and his friends complete the exhibition.
