RHEINAUHAFEN
Attractive waterfront neighborhood with residential buildings, cafés, restaurants, galleries, trio of buildings...
The former port of Cologne on the Rhine has been transformed into a completely restructured complex into a young and attractive district. Not far from the city centre, it quickly established itself as one of Cologne's most popular attractions. The waterfront neighbourhood includes a mix of modern residential and office buildings interspersed with numerous cafés, restaurants and galleries. The centrepiece of the new Cologne promenade is the trio of buildings called "Kranhäuser" (crane towers), which culminate at about 60 metres. The buildings, which are in the form of lifting cranes, leave their mark on the skyline on the west bank of the Rhine. The mixture of historic buildings and modern architecture is a characteristic feature of the Rheinauhafen.
