PERFUME MUSEUM
Museum housed in an rococo house, with hundreds of objects illustrating 300 years of perfume-making.
This rococo house of the family of the great 18th century perfumer Jean-Marie Farina (1685-1766), which claims to be the mother house of eau de Cologne, has been transformed into a fascinating museum of perfume. From the cellars to the laboratories, from the oils themselves to their manufacturing tools and the bottles, the museum gathers hundreds of objects testifying to 300 years of perfume manufacturing. Patrick Süskind is said to have been inspired by Farina, an obsessive lover of scents, to write his novel Le Parfum.
