BUNDESKUNSTHALLE
Located on the Boulevard des Musées (Museumsmeile) and inaugurated in 1992, the Art and Exhibition Centre of the Federal Republic of Germany (Kunst-und Ausstellungshalle der Bundesrepublik Deutschland or Bundeskunsthalle) is one of the most visited cultural institutions in the country. There is no permanent collection, but many temporary exhibitions on subjects such as art and cultural history, photography, architecture and design, not to mention science and technology. The three pyramids on the roof of the museum, which serve as skylights, have become the emblem of the museum, and even of the city of Bonn. The 16 dark steel columns in front of the museum represent the 16 Länder of Germany.
