Difficult to do better. Dating back to the mid th century, the Petersberg residence, perched on its mount, is not only beautiful, but also steeped in history: all of the world's greats stayed there (from Queen Elizabeth II to Brezhnev, from Gorbachev to Clinton). If you feel like a head of state, you can stay here in a bedroom overlooking the Rhine with views of the Drachenfels and the Drachenburg. A little more champagne, Mr. Speaker?
