KLOSTER EBERBACH
Visit the monastery and its library to see the presses, outbuildings and monks' dormitory.
The Eberbach monastery was founded by the Cistercian monastic order. The building is well worth a visit: during a stroll, visitors can observe the wine presses and outbuildings forming a sort of mini-village. The tour takes in the monks' dormitory, as well as the converse refectory filled with incredibly large wine presses. The library, containing thousands of rare works, is unfortunately not open to the public. The site was the location for the interiors of the film The Name of the Rose.
