SCHLOSSPLATZ
Superb square featuring a fountain with water at a temperature of 66°C, from a spring discovered in Wiesbaden in 1537.
At the center of this magnificent square stands a strange stone from which a fountain emanates, characterized by the steam it produces. This is the famous Marktbrunnen, the boiling fountain discovered in 1537. Its waters reach a temperature of 66°C. Its curative virtues have earned it a solid reputation. If you feel like having a drink, the water is hot and salty. Opposite, the superb Altes Rathaus, dating from 1610, faces the Neus Rathaus. Right next door stands the superb Stadtschloss, dating from 1840. It now houses the Hessian Parliament.
