HEIDELBERG CASTLE
A heterogeneous yet harmonious chateau, with different styles reflecting the eventful stages of its construction.
Absolutely unavoidable, its profile of ruins, surrounded by forests, is known all over the world. The whole ensemble is very beautiful, heterogeneous and harmonious at the same time, thanks to the pink color of the stone. The different styles of Heidelberg Castle reflect the eventful stages of its construction. Of the old part (14th century) only the façade remains. However, even the ruins allow one to imagine the past presence and magnificence of what was the residence of the prince electors of the palatinate until its complete destruction by the French army in 1693. The castle is immense and it is impossible to list all its treasures. It is possible to enter the perimeter of the castle, as well as take a guided tour of the interiors (mostly in ruins).
