Summer residence of Karl Theodor, the castle and especially its gardens are a model of 18th century baroque and rococo architecture. In the gigantic park you will find fake ruins, fake Greek temples, a fake mosque, etc. Have fun finding the end-of-the-world trompe-l'oeil created in the garden by the Frenchman Nicolas de Pigage. A masterpiece of simulacra!

Beau château, on peut le visiter avec une visite guidée assez intéressante mais uniquement en allemand. Un carnet avec une description de chaque pièce dans différentes langues est disponible au départ de la visite guidée. Les descriptions sont bien complètes avec des anecdotes intéressantes. La visite dure plus ou moins une heure. Vous pouvez aussi visiter les jardins qui sont très grands et bien entretenus, très sympathique lorsqu'il fait beau ce qui est souvent le cas dans la région.
