Charming medieval town with remarkably maintained timbered houses. Some traces of Roman constructions have been cleared (see the Forum and its small mosaic tiles). Also a medieval wall that follows the Roman wall.
It's finally in Ladenbourg that Karl Benz invented his first car! You can visit his house, as well as the small car museum (Automuseum Dr Carl benz. Ilvesheimer Straße 26. Entry: € 4, reduced: 2,50 €). But Ladenbourg also has many gastronomic qualities! Its centre is full of small typical restaurants, or not. Located between Heidelberg and Mannheim, Ladenbourg is an appointment of city-dwellers to spend a romantic evening, or to come and walk on the weekend, in a more rural setting.
