TOUR DES NIBELUNGEN
Neo-Romanesque tower, 53 meters high, built between 1897 and 1900 with a clock, a small coat of arms and eight levels in Worms.
The gateway to the city of Worms, located on the Nibelungen Bridge, this neo-Romanesque tower is emblematic of the city. Built between 1897 and 1900 by the architect Karl Hofmann, the Nibelungenturn was originally a dwelling. On the west side is the small coat of arms of the Grand Duchy of Hesse and the tower clock. The coat of arms of Worms is above it. With a height of 53 meters, it consists of eight levels! Since 1976, it has been used as a hostel and is run by the scouts. The three lower floors house the water monitoring station. Until 1945, a twin tower stood proudly on the opposite bank of the Rhine. Unfortunately, it was destroyed during the war.
