NEW STUTTGART CASTLE
Sumptuous U-shaped château built between 1746 and 1806, one of the finest examples of classicism.
This sumptuous, U-shaped building shines with majesty amidst lawns and fountains. Built between 1746 and 1806, the neues Schloss is one of the finest examples of classicism (it serves as a reception venue for the state government). The Schlossplatz is the heart of the city, and the meeting place for its inhabitants. In the center of the square, a commemorative column dating from 1841 is dedicated to the reign of William I.
