Béatrice and Bénédicte gave the first performance in this theater, similar in style to the Opéra Garnier in Paris.
Located on Goetheplatz, the Baden-Baden Theater was built between 1860 and 1862 in a style similar to that of the Opéra Garnier in Paris (late Baroque). In many ways, its appearance is reminiscent of the Parisian monument. The first performance on opening night was Hector Berlioz's Béatrice et Bénédicte. Today, classical and modern plays are performed here, as well as theater courses and numerous workshops for the very young.
