DAS KARLSRUHER SCHLOSS
Karlsruhe Palace was built between 1715 and 1718. For around 200 years, it served as the residence and seat of government of the margraves, then the electors and grand dukes of Baden. The present Baroque design of the palace dates from the second half of the 18th century, after it had undergone various alterations and extensions, the plans for which were drawn up by Balthasar Neumann and brought to life by the architect Albrecht Friedrich von Kesslau, the former court director Bauten Baden and by his successor Wilhelm Jeremias Müller.
