The Berlin Marathon's flat, wind-protected course makes it the fastest in the world. Since 2003, all men's world records have been broken. Indeed, the latest was set by Eliud Kipchoge in 2022, with a time of 2 hours, 1 minute and 9 seconds. For women, Tigist Assefa holds the record with 2 hours, 11 minutes and 53 seconds. She will set this time in 2023.
