The Berlinale is, after Cannes and Venice, one of the biggest film festivals in the world. The Golden Bear awards the best film and several Silver Bears reward the best director or the best actress. Each year, more than 300 films are screened in more than 20 cinemas in the city. To see the stars and the red carpet, go to the Berlinale-Palast behind Potsdamer Platz. The last Saturday is the awards ceremony and the next day the "Publikumstag": tickets are easier to get and cheaper.
