SOVIET MONUMENT IN TREPTOWER PARK
Imposing statue of the Motherland mourning her children, presenting a red marble double door in Berlin.
At the end of Treptower Park, after an alley of cypress trees, hides a strange science fiction setting. An imposing statue of the Motherland mourning her children. A double red marble door with futuristic contours opens onto rows of stelae bearing the effigies of Stalin, Lenin and soldiers of the Soviet army. In the centre is a monumental statue of a hero trampling on the Nazi cross. This monument, erected in 1949, is dedicated to the Red Army fighters who fell during the war.
