MEMORIAL TO VICTIMS OF EUTHANASIA
Memorial to the 300,000 disabled and mentally ill people in Europe murdered as a result of Nazi-initiated euthanasia.
This is the latest of the memorials dedicated to the victims of the National Socialist policy. Since 2014, this place commemorates the 300,000 disabled and mentally ill people in Europe who were murdered as a result of the euthanasia programmes launched by the Nazis. It should be noted that in German, the word "euthanasia" does not have the same use as in French. Its use is reserved for this tragic event in German history; it is in no way used today to refer to accompanied suicide(Sterbehilfe).
