MIES-VAN-DER-ROHE-HAUS
A house built with huge open windows, which has become an exhibition space for architecture in Berlin.
Here we can see one of the houses built by the architect Mies Van der Rohe, who was director of the Bauhaus before he fled Nazi Germany and settled in Chicago, where he created his most famous works. The house in Hohenschönhausen was built for an industrial couple: the Lemkes. The huge bay windows opening onto the surrounding nature already herald the importance of mixing inside and outside at Van der Rohe. The house is now open to the public and is also a space for exhibitions related to architecture.
