DAVID-BOWIE-HAUS
Apartment where David Bowie lived for 3 years to get away from drugs and record new songs.
In 1976, David Bowie rented a two-room apartment on the second floor of this very common building. His neighbor was a stranger by the name of Iggy Pop. Bowie fled to Berlin to get away from drugs (which seems a bit paradoxical) and to record new songs. He stayed for three years. He produced the albums Low and Heroes at Hansa Studios. The two musicians were regulars at 157 on the same street, in a bar called Neues Ufer. It was the first openly gay bar in the neighborhood.
