OBERBAUMBRÜCKE
This bridge, between Kreuzberg in the west and Friedrichshain in the east, offers a beautiful panorama of the Spree and the TV Tower.
It is one of the most beautiful bridges in the city, of neo-gothic red brick architecture. It allows the aerial metro to cross the Spree. Linking the districts of Friedrichshain (east) and Kreuzberg (west), the bridge has become a symbol of German unity: before November 1989, these two districts were separated by the Wall. Today, it is the ideal setting for a sunset overlooking the Fernsehturm. At weekends, the flow of night birds flying across the Spree to scour the bars and clubs is impressive.
