BLINDENWERKSTATT OTTO WEIDT - MUSEE OTTO WEIDT
Museum telling the story of Otto Weidt, who owned a broom-making workshop with blind, often Jewish, workers.
Located in the right-hand passage of the Hackesche Höfe, this museum tells the unique story of Otto Weidt and his protégés. Weidt owned a broom-making workshop (the present museum). Shortly before World War II, he decided to hire blind workers, many of them Jewish. Under the Nazi dictatorship, he hid many of them at the risk of his life. The permanent exhibition is under revision between January and May 2023, but a temporary exhibition will be open to visitors.
