A museum evoking the contradiction between the ambitions of the communist regime and the lives of East German citizens.
The museum's free permanent exhibition is entitled "Everyday Life in the GDR" and aims to show the contradiction between the ambitions of the communist regime and the life of East German citizens. As in the Tränenpalast (run by the same foundation, Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik, the House of the History of the Federal Republic), there is an audioguide in French on the site if you have a smartphone and headphones.

Très gros coup de coeur pour ce petit musée gratuit. La présentation est très ludique et nous donne un excellent aperçu de la vie en RDA. Nous y sommes allés avec notre enfant de 12 ans qui a beaucoup apprécié compte tenu de l'aspect très concret des expositions. A faire sans hésiter surtout que le musée se trouve dans un lieu qui vaut aussi largement le déplacement.
