Berlin-based museum presenting the history of the Ministry of State Security through offices, methods and archives.
The museum is housed in its central branch and tells the story of the Ministry of State Security (the ruthless Ministerium für Staatssicherheit, short for "Stasi"). It shows the office of its last minister, Erich Mielke, as well as an exhibition in German detailing the methods of the Stasi. The Stasi archives are also housed here; after the fall of the regime, many people discovered that they were living under surveillance.
