The Museum of European Cultures was created by bringing together two collections, those of the Museum für Völkerkunde, and the European Collection of Berlin's European Museums. The aim of the museum is to present various European cultural phenomena. On two floors, the museum is divided into two main sections: the first is devoted to the role of images since the Middle Ages in the daily lives of Europeans, and the second to the places where images are received - private, public, religious.
