HAUS AM WALDSEE
Gallery featuring exhibitions by international contemporary artists and a charming café with terrace in Berlin.
Housed in an old villa in Zehlendorf, the gallery opened in 1946 and for many years presented all the artists who had been banned by the Nazis, including Käthe Kollwitz, Hermann Blumenthal and Max Ernst. But since the 1980s and after having accomplished its mission of rehabilitation, the gallery innovates with exhibitions of international contemporary artists. Since then, it has become one of Berlin's leading venues for contemporary art. The museum also houses a charming café with a terrace offering food made exclusively from organic products.
