BETHANIAN KUNSTRAUM
Former hospital hosting exhibitions, alternative art, plays and even residencies for foreign artists.
This former hospital hosts exhibitions of artists. However, it is after a long struggle that this old 19th century complex, threatened with destruction in the 1980s, has survived. It was first squatted in the 1970s, notably by the French street artist Thierry Noir, who undertook to paint the portion of the Wall located just behind the building. Artistic emulation attracted attention and the building was eventually preserved to host plays, alternative art exhibitions, and residencies for foreign artists.
