Discover Berlin : Agenda (Event / Folklore / Holidays)

Berlin's cultural life is punctuated and punctuated by numerous events throughout the year. While summer temperatures are perfect for relaxing, the dullness of winter days is saved by the lively Christmas markets in December and the Berlinale in February. This film festival, the third largest in the world, attracts around 500,000 film buffs from all over the world every year. Music is not to be outdone with events that celebrate the classical heritage such as the Classic Open Air or contemporary music such as Maerzmusik. Spring is characterised by many outdoor events: taking to the streets is perhaps a way to celebrate the end of winter. Berliners celebrate May Day as if it were the last day of the year. In July, they parade through the streets honoring both the Christopher Street riots and their tradition of tolerance.
