Once a camel market, Bab Khmiss is now a large flea market. Its name means "Thursday's door", because it is only on this day that the bargain hunters could have a good time. The second-hand dealers and the other emptying of attics can henceforth settle all the week, close to the hard shops and some more specialized craftsmen (brassware, pottery, joinery). Thursdays are still a favourite day, as well as Sundays, because more people come to buy and look around.
