Once a symbol of splendour where gold flowed freely, the El Badi palace now only houses storks which are the masters of the place.

El Badi, the Incomparable, was created to commemorate the defeat of the Portuguese in the Battle of the Three Kings. In 1578, Ahmed le Doré spared neither expense nor time to complete the project: he called upon the best Spanish craftsmen and destined El Badi for royal celebrations. In 1672, the Alawite sovereign Moulay Ismaïl dismantled the palace to enrich the residences of Meknes. Being only ruins, it is necessary to immerse oneself in history and to concentrate on the immense courtyard to imagine the 360 rooms of the palace in its former splendor.

It is really an unmissable site " Marrakech Rouge". I do not get bored me to visit it with each my travels. Its history is so rich that I do not cease learning some. Also, I had to, and I weigh my words, attend the Festivities Popular Arts at the end of July... It is a show sound and light who makes you rediscover the illuminated brilliantly for the occasion and vibrant palace until late at night by all the Moroccan folk troops. The highlight of the show: magnificent fireworks!
