MACMA
MACMA focuses on the country's modern and contemporary painting, with a permanent exhibition of some 200 works
Before the 50s, Moroccans would decorate doors, ceilings or everyday objects, but not paint pictures. From this date onwards, a figurative movement emerged, and under the influence of the Ecole de Paris, an abstract movement. The MACMA, a 400 m² private museum, has opted for a permanent exhibition, enabling visitors to discover Morocco's multidisciplinary artistic expressions. The works on display belong either to the museum or to collectors who loan them for the occasion. A small boutique and art bookshop is also available to the public.
