THE PERFUME MUSEUM
A peaceful perfume museum in Marrakech, offering an opportunity to discover the major stages in the creation of a perfume
Marrakech, it's the eyes, but also the nose! So much so that the Benchaâbane jack-of-all-trades who was behind the restoration of the Majorelle Gardens and the creation in 2002 at the request of Yves Saint Laurent of his first perfume, founder of the Museum of Contemporary Art, but also "nose", dedicated an entire riad dating from the 19th century to him. In a peaceful atmosphere and the most elegant décor, you will discover the main stages in the elaboration of a perfume, from distillation to composition, but also the secrets of incense, argan, floral waters and other essential oils. Certain uses of perfume, such as the trance in southern Morocco, are described. "In our culture, we perfume ourselves from birth to death," says Amina, who runs the museum. "We even have the plants in the coffin to help the deceased find the right path. "The perfumes of Marrakech float in the air of time through this unusual olfactory experience...

Musée original
Le musée offre même la possibilité de participer à un atelier et de créer son propre parfum. C'est une visite courte, mais intéressante.
