MAYURA WATER PALACE - PALAIS FLOTTANT DE MAYURA
Remarkable floating palace, formerly a courthouse, situated on an artificial lake and featuring a beautiful public garden with trees
All that remains of the temple today is an artificial lake and a beautiful public garden full of mangosteen trees. In the middle of this artificial lake, this palace was built and used as a court house. The floating palace of Mayura, built in 1744, is part of the heritage of the ancient kingdom of Karangasem in East Bali. It combines Hindu and Islamic architectural techniques of the same king who built the Lingsar temple.
