PEDRA DO ULTIMO ADEUS
Roche du Dernier, an eruptive rock known to all climbers, with a superb panorama of the Campo Belo river
The Roche du Dernier or Ultimate Farewell Rock, perched at an altitude of 810 m, offers a superb panorama of the Campo Belo river and the park's mountain range. This rock is of eruptive origin. Rich in bauxite, it is well known to all climbers. Its granitic composition lends itself admirably to rock climbing. However, it wasn't until 1999 that a trio of well-known Brazilian climbers, including the Guedes brothers, Jorge and Fabio Coreà, conquered the summit. The viewpoint can be reached without climbing, by following a footpath.
