Fazenda offering an interesting visit to discover the coffee valley, now a resort and ecotourism destination

The coffee valley has now become a resort and ecotourism area, where traditional coffee fazendas have become more or less luxurious accommodations. Coffee has been consigned to history, as production of this berry has all but disappeared from the region. However, a visit to the Fazenda Taquara, in Barra do Piraí, takes us back to the region's rich past. Here, coffee is still harvested, sorted, dried and roasted on site. A very interesting visit, and a must on any tour.
