A 35-storey, 161 m-high skyscraper with a 360° panoramic view stretching 40 km from its summit
This 35-storey skyscraper is one of the symbols of the city, when it attracted millions of migrants in the early 20th century. Its construction began in 1939 and took eight years, inspired by the Empire State in New York. For 40 years, it was considered the tallest concrete structure in the world, standing 161 metres high. From its summit, the 360° panoramic view extends over 40 km. The silhouette of this skyscraper is one of São Paulo's postcards.
