PARQUE DA LUZ
Beautiful botanical garden in a haven of peace and greenery, with water mirrors and small waterfalls, the city's oldest park
It is the oldest park in the city, located between the Estaçao da Luz station, the Monasteiro da Luz and the famous Pinacoteca (which was originally the Chamber of Arts and Crafts). Created in 1825, this beautiful botanical garden was designed with water mirrors, small waterfalls, a haven of peace and greenery in the heart of the city. Located in the middle of a degraded district in the 20th century, it was unfortunately the scene of drug trafficking and prostitution, before being completely redesigned in the 2000s, as part of the renovation of the center of São Paulo.
