FÊTE DES MOISSONS

The 15 th day of the 8 th lunar month (September-October) takes place Chuseok, the largest Korean celebration. This is the harvest day. As in Seollal, all Koreans scramble to their native country to visit their families. Above all, it is a question of honouring the ancestors on their grave. Although this feast is compared to Christmas, it looks more like its nature and its function to the All. After a morning ceremony at the family home (that of the parents or the eldest son, keunjip) comparable to that of Seollal, you go to the tombs for another ceremony. The family then eats a traditional meal. This party is important, like that of Seollal, because it tightens family and clan ties. We also take a few days of holidays in Chuseok.
