JUNGANG FISH MARKET
Sokcho seafood market, one of the largest in South Korea, with fresh chobap (sushi).
Opened in 1982, Sokcho's fish market is one of the largest in South Korea (after Busan). Spread over several streets, some covered, it is particularly popular with tourists, who come to sample chobap (sushi), crab and abalone, local specialties. To avoid the crowds, it's best to come in the morning, especially as the restaurants open very early. On the other hand, they close early in the evening too, so it's not ideal for dining.
