DONGHWASA TEMPLE
Temple built by the monk Geukdal in 493 with halls, the Bongseoru pavilion and a 17-metre Buddha statue, the mascot.
This temple was built by the monk Geukdal in 493. But the current temple dates back to 1732. Here we find the Seolbeopjeon, Daeungjeon halls; as well as the Bongseoru pavilion. If you go down the stairs just next door and take a few steps, you come across the mascot of the temple, a majestic statue of the Buddha 17 metres high. Around it, there are huge lanterns but also, in the shape of an arc of a circle just behind, other sculptures engraved with the effigy of lotus flowers, lions... It is a work of impressive finesse
