TAESAMYO SHRINE
Sanctuary built in 1542 in memory of the 3 Goryeo generals, Kim, Jang and Gwon, containing objects that belonged to them.
In the centre of the city is this sanctuary built in memory of the 3 generals of Goryeo, Kim, Jang and Gwon. Built in 1542 but rebuilt in 1958, it contains objects that belonged to them. On the other side of the river is the Yeongho-ru pavilion (14th century) which housed the region's scholars. King Gongmin fleeing invasions in 1372 frequented this place. He made the calligraphy of the engraved panel that bears the name of the pavilion. But the latter was destroyed 3 times by floods, of which only this wooden panel was found.
