SUNGHYEJEON
Sanctuary dedicated to the Kim clan, which ruled Silla from King Muchi onwards, with tablets from Muchi, King Munmu and King Gyeongsun.
It is a shrine dedicated to the Kim clan who ruled Silla from King Muchi (3rd century), replacing the founding Pak clan. It contains the tablets of Muchi, King Munmu, who unified the country in 668, and King Gyeongsun, the last ruler of Silla. There is also an altar dedicated to Alchi, the legendary founder of this clan. Ceremonies are held in the spring and fall. It is not a must-see if you stay on Gyeongju but the structures and architecture are still pleasant.
