NAKDONGGANG BIRD SANCTUARY
A reserve of sandy islets home to over 100,000 species of birds, including the rare white-naped crane.
A series of sandy islets in the estuary of the Nakdonggang River has been designated a nature reserve, as thousands of rare birds come from Siberia to winter or nest in the spring. You should visit the island of Eulsukdo, the main island, a real paradise, where more than 100,000 species of birds are listed, including some very rare ones such as the white-naped crane, the small spatula or the white-tailed eagle. The area was designated a nature reserve in 1966.
