FOLK VILLAGE NAGANEUPSEONG
village with rice-straw-roofed dwellings known as chogajib, cultural activities on site.
This fortress village dates from the 14th century. Its dwellings have the peculiarity of being surmounted by a roof of rice straw. These houses are called chogajib houses and they have become very rare. Most of them were destroyed during Japanese colonization, making Naganeupseong a survivor. The jangseung, small wooden totems with wacky faces have done their job of protection well. Numerous cultural activities await you on site.
