PUNGPAEJIGWAN
Building housing official guests under Joseon and hosting national ceremonies, remarkable architecture and finial.
It is a large and beautiful building that was used to house the official guests passing under Joseon and to host the national ceremonies. Its long architecture is imposing. Of particular note is the roofing. The buildings could date from the end of Goryeo or the beginning of Joseon, the date is not certain. The western pavilion was rebuilt in 1471 using materials from the old library of Jeonju. The eastern one disappeared under Japanese occupation, as did the main gate of the site, but it was rebuilt in 1999.
