NANGYE MUSIC FESTIVAL
To discover gugak/국악, traditional Korean music, in this city where the virtuoso Park Yeon, known as Nangye, was born.
30 km to the southeast, in the Chungcheongbuk-do, the small town of Yeongdong organizes a festival of traditional Korean music, the Nangye festival, named after the "father" of Korean music. Parades, rituals, instrument making, shows and gastronomic tastings (including the local specialty, cinnamon) are on the program for 5 days at the end of September. Good way to immerse yourself in the traditional music of the Joseon dynasty and share this highly cultural moment. At the same time the wine festival is also held.
