MAGOKSA TEMPLE
Temple built in 640 by the monk Jajang and destroyed by the Japanese in 1592, Yeongsanjeon Hall with a thousand golden clay Buddhas.
One of the little-known pearls of the region. It was founded in 640 by the monk Jajang and destroyed by the Japanese in 1592. A charming place where you absolutely have to get there on foot. In autumn, the blushing trees, in spring, the greenery and the noise of the wild river bring to this place a fairy tale note. Its old buildings of rare beauty will make you forget everything. Before crossing the bridge, see the Yeongsanjeon Hall, or Cheonbuljeon, rebuilt in 1651, which houses a thousand Buddhas of golden clay. The interior with its old painted beams is superb.
