A shrine built in 1706 and dedicated to the national hero, Admiral Yi Sun-sin, the exhibition hall houses his artefacts, including his diary.
This shrine dedicated to the national hero, Admiral Yi Sun-sin, was built in 1706 on the very site of his family home. Destroyed by Daewongun in the 1860s, it was rebuilt in 1932 and raised to the rank of national shrine in 1966. It is now very large and includes an archery range, the family house, an exhibition hall housing the admiral's handwritten diary (translated into English by Yonsei University Press), his sword and other personal objects. Sanctuary to visit.
